Soft Skill Development

Under various titles M.P. Shah Arts and Science is keen to develop students soft skills, especially under the scheme “Finishing School”. It is an Employability Enhancement Initiative of the Education Department, Government of Gujarat for imparting training on Skill development for students of Higher and Technical Education to make them Industry-ready. Dr. K. M. Batyhavar, Dr. D.P. Agravat, Dr. D.J. Chavada,  Dr. J. P. Harsora  and Dr. Bharat Kanazariya have been initiating, encouraging and facilitating the students to pursue the program. Soft skills are a combination of People Skills, Social Skills, Communication Skills, Character or Personality Traits, Career attributes, Social intelligence and Emotional Intelligence Quotients, among others, that enable people to navigate their environment, work well with others, perform well, and achieve their goals with complementing hard skills.  The Collins English Dictionary defines the term "soft skills" as "desirable qualities for certain forms of employment that do not depend on acquired knowledge: they include common sense, the ability to deal with people, and a positive flexible attitude.
